Baccarat Petit Corona Cigar Review

Cigar Reviews review cigarobsession.com Baccarat Petit Corona This 5.5×42 natural stick offers a dry, satin wrapper with a light pack and a spongy feel with a few soft spots. Burn was very good all the way down, holding 1? ash chunks and giving lots of good smoke volume. Flavors were never harsh, giving a mild-medium body of a sweet leather and pepper core, with a fairly long finish adding a slight pepper zing over the tongue. This is a quick smoke, ending at 40 min to the nub where it got pretty hot in temp and I ended it while the flavors stayed on the smooth side. Draw was just about perfect, just on the loose side giving very easy resistance. The only flavor transition was from an extremely sweet first inch to a mild sweetness the rest of the way down due to the sweetened tip. Photography by BG Pictures.

The A-Team (DVD) Review

One of the many hit TV shows inextricably linked to the 1980′s is The A-Team, an action series with plenty of bombs, machine guns, and bazookas – where miraculously no one ever seems to die! Short for “Alpha Team,” The A-Team is a Vietnam-era crack commando unit wrongfully accused of robbing the Bank of Hanoi. Having escaped from a maximum security prison, the four man team survives in the anonymity of the Los Angeles underground. And with the government still hot on their trail, they’re forced to work as soldiers of fortune, providing aid and assistance to the helpless victims of various injustices…

The A-Team is led by cigar aficionado Col. John “Hannibal” Smith (George Peppard), a wise-cracking officer who always has a plan in the works. Hannibal is flanked by Lt. Templeton “Faceman” Peck (Dirk Benedict), the consummate ladies’ man; Sgt. Bosco “B.A.” Baracus (Mr. T), a gold-drenched muscleman afraid of flying; and Captain H.M “Howling Mad” Murdock, a lanky mental case who nevertheless carries out his missions with flawless precision. Together, they travel the country in B.A.’s trademark black van, fighting for justice and attempting to elude the clutches of the nefarious Colonel Decker (Lance LeGault) who wants nothing more in life than to capture The A-Team…

The A-Team DVD features a number of action-packed episodes including the season premiere “Mexican Slayride” in which journalist Amy Allen sets out to prove the existence of The A-Team and its various good deeds. But when a fellow reporter is kidnapped by Mexican renegades, Amy gets a firsthand look at The A-Team’s handiwork when she hires them to rescue her friend… Other notable episodes from Season 1 include “Holiday in the Hills” in which, following a plane crash, The A-Team is forced to do battle with a group of mountain men, and “One More Time” in which the U.S. government itself hires The A-Team to rescue a general and his daughter from South American guerillas…

Cohibar – Sydney, Australia – Review

In Darling Harbour the nightclubs are elite, with Home Bar, Bungalow 8 and Pontoon Bar providing endless nights of entertainment. With this in mind, it is possible that my expectations were far too high for Cohibar to meet them…but the bottom line was simple: I did not enjoy my night at Cohibar.

Cohibar is in a prime position above the Watershed, and has two levels: the cocktail lounge and terrace downstairs, and the cigar loft upstairs. It costs nothing to get in on a Saturday night, and when I went in there weren’t even bouncers to check ID. The first thing I was struck by when I went in was how small it was: besides the terrace, the indoors has virtually no space to move around in on a busy night. The seating was limited (but let’s be fair, all the bars in Darling Harbour aren’t the largest) and I had to settle for sitting near the cigarette dispenser in front of the bathrooms.

The main items on the menu that will catch anyone’s eye are the mouth-watering cocktails and extensive list of cigars. However, don’t go into Cohibar with only $20 and expect to get more than one drink, because the cocktail prices all hang around the $14-$18 mark. Also, don’t expect to be standing in line for only 5 minutes: it took half an hour for me and my friend to get one drink. With that being said, the bartenders make the drinks in front of you which can provide you with a few good minutes of entertainment while waiting.

Of course, Cohibar’s reputation for good cocktails and cigars attracts a very different crowd from Soho or Tank: expect to see a diverse age range when you go there because I saw everything from newly-18 year olds to a bride-to-be having her hen’s night…and even a group of 50 year old men ordering some wine for the evening. Naturally, this diversity of age means that it is not the place to dance to the world’s most mainstream songs. Instead, Cohibar plays a blend of tame electrofunk that maintains the general atmosphere of the location.

The decor is fairly simple, but the lights that Cohibar chose provide a great atmospheric lighting. Aside from that, Cohibar relies on the views of Darling Harbour to draw guests there: if nothing else, the view is absolutely breathtaking, especially from the cigar loft. The customer service is average at the bar, but exceptional outside it: empty glasses get cleaned up within a matter of minutes, and the bathrooms – although small – are clean.

Cohibar has nothing that is extraordinarily bad about it, but also nothing extraordinarily good from what I experienced. The great drinks and cigars are made slightly less great by the fact that they take a good chunk of money from your wallet, and the great views of the Harbour are compromised by the lack of decor inside. Overall, Cohibar is a place to go if you’re looking for an expensive night of opulence, good drinks and a tame crowd…unfortunately, that wasn’t for me.

Nub Habano Cigar Review

www.smokinghotcigarchick.com In this video I review a Nub Habano 460. This has a Habano wrapper with a 60 gauge ring size. A Habano is lighter than a dark Maduro style wrapper but darker and heavier than a Connecticut style wrapper. This is a delightful full bodied. strong flavored cigar. The draw is very smooth and not too hot at all, even all the way down to the band. I prefer using cigar scissors with this cigar because of the large gauge. But a punch is fine, too. A cigar cutter may be a bit difficult to use with the large ring gauge. It’s all a matter of what you’re comfortable with. Ladies, I encourage you to try a fine cigar. And gentlemen, ladies love a confident man with a cigar in hand. Send me an email at cigarchick@gmail.com for requests. Be sure to subscribe to my youtube channel and add me as a friend. LOL. Keep your mind out of the gutter, fellas! I mean requests to review your favorite stogie….haha. Hey, I guess that could be misconstrued, too. Ah well. Please keep it clean, gentleman.

Arturo Fuente 858 Maduro Cigar Review

Cigar reviews Arturo Fuente 858 Maduro Cigar ReviewArturo Fuente 858 Maduro Cigar Review cigarobsession.com http This 6×47 stick offers a dark chocolate almost black, lumpy toothy wrapper with small veins all over, a couple large ones, thick seams and a very nice slightly sweet chocolate aroma. First light reveals a firm draw, adaquate smoke production and flavors of a sweet tobacco with a rich and oily long finish. The first third develops in to a slightly must aged tobacco taste with a oily and rich finish with a touch of caramel like sweetness. Smoke production is very good giving thick and chewy medium-full body. The 2nd third proves very close to the first, bringing a hint of leather in at points. Ending at 1:15 the last third is pretty much the same, only adding a touch of dusty chocolate and a longer tobacco finish. Thank you very much to Jeremie Plouffe for sending me this sample for review, I really appreciate it! Photography by BG Pictures.

Cuban Cigar Review – H. Upmann Monarchs

Another typical day on the Czar deck a little too much alcohol has been consumed and the results are obvious. The H Upmann Monarch is one of the proposed cigars to be discontinued by Habanos SA so Rob and Ken do a quick review on this great cigar.
