What kind of Cigar should I buy in Germany to roll a blunt?

Question by : What kind of Cigar should I buy in Germany to roll a blunt?
There are no Dutches, Phillies, Games, or any other american-blunt-rolling-cigar. i checked at a kiosk at the cheapest cigar they had was call “Independence Cigar” im gonna try that one but any suggestions would be usefull.

The cigar should be as simply wrapped as possible so that when i cut it down the middle with a knife and gut it, i end up with a simple sheet that i can wrap around my goodies.

December’s Premium Cigars Available at the Premium Cigar of the Month Club

Lake Forest, CA (PRWEB) December 17, 2011

A subscription to the Premium Cigar of the Month Club (otherwise known as the The Cigar of the Month Society) is a gift suitable for clients, associates or employees as well as a personal gift for those people that are particularly difficult to shop for. Gift memberships range from 2-12 months and can be charged either monthly or in a one installment.

Members of the cigar club receive a selection of five different brands of aged, highly-rated, hand-rolled cigars each month.

One member put it best when he said “I wanted to drop you a line to let you know how pleased I?ve been with your service. The quality and assortment of cigars I?ve received has been outstanding, but more importantly, I?ve discovered many new cigars that I now enjoy on a regular basis, that I probably would never have even tried. Keep up the great job.”

This month’s featured selections include 3 from Nicaragua and 2 from Honduras.

Gurkha’S Castle Hall Robusto is a Nicaraguan cigar with origins in old Cuba. It is medium-bodied with bold, heady flavors that run from sweet clove-like notes to leathery earthiness, and it tends to grow in strength as it burns. Its thick, patiently aged Grade ‘A’ Honduran wrapper burns slow and cool. Look for soothing, creamy notes on the palate with flourishes of roasted nuts lingering after each puff. This stogie pairs well with a pungent peaty single malt such as Lagavulin or Laphroaig.

Next up from Nicaragua is the handmade Est. 1844 Anejado No. 50-xtra cigar. The wrapper, a dark, toothy San Andres Maduro, cloaks a healthy dose of robust Nicaraguan long-fillers. Expect a complex flavor profile that’s layered with rich notes of espresso, earth, pepper, and cedar. The finish is natural and sweet. This cigar has a “dead even burn,” as one panelist put it. Well constructed with a firm, but not tight draw. Try this with Courvoisier XO Cognac for a rewarding flavor combination.

The next cigar offered to Club members this month is the Honduran Gran Habano Azteca Fuerte Robusto. It has two dark, toothy San Andres Maduro wrappers which are both extra fermented naturally, without sweating or other artificial means. Beneath these two leaves is a combination of Cuban-seed Nicaraguan long-fillers and rich tobaccos from Panama. The result is a bold medium to full-bodied array of rich, tobacco flavors. Expect an easy draw. Notes of coffee, earth, pepper, and a sweet, toasty finish characterize this cigar. It burns well, with a nice draw and firm ash. A great match to an Irish Stout or Imperial Porter!

Also from Honduras we have the Hoyo de Monterrey Excalibur #3. Originally produced by leaf grower and founder Jose Gener in Cuba in the 1960′s, it is now hand rolled in Honduras. The Excalibur is made using the top 10% of the factory’s tobacco from Honduras and Nicaragua. The beautiful Connecticut Shade wrapper gives the cigar a robust but unusually smooth taste. The blend is Nicaraguan, Honduran, and Cuban-seed Dominican fillers, while the binder is Connecticut. This full-flavored brand has been dubbed the “espresso of cigars” because of its famously rich, strong, and creamy smoke. Expect a perfect draw, a straight burn that stays firm throughout, and a lovely aroma. The Hoyo de Monterrey Excalibur is considered to be one of the finest cigars on the market. This cigar goes well with a cup of java or a flavorful brewski.

Lastly we have another cigar from Nicaragua. The Rocky Patel Royal Vintage Churchill is an example of one of the most notable and memorable cigar blends ever created. This purple-banded beauty is handcrafted with dark, oily, very well-aged Ecuadorian Sumatra wrappers. This thick, oily wrapper leaf–with its lovely reddish hue–cloaks a vintage mixture of long-leaf tobaccos from both Nicaragua and Honduras. Expect a medium-to-full body smoke filled with a rich array of elegant flavors including notes of espresso, earth and spices. A V.S.O.P. cognac goes well with this cigar.

Premium Cigar Association Lauds Indiana Legislature

Indianapolis, Indiana (Vocus) March 18, 2010

The Indiana General Assembly adjourned last week before acting on a proposed statewide smoking ban that would have cost the state untold jobs and tax revenues, said the International Premium Cigar & Pipe Retailers Association.

This session?s rejected smoking ban was the fourth bid by Rep. Charlie Brown of Gary, Indiana to ban smoking in all public places except casinos and horse tracks.

“Our Indiana association members and their customers had a lot to do with effectively defeating this proposed legislation,” said Chris McCalla, legislative director of the IPCPR. “They contacted their state representatives and senators in opposition to the bill because it was discriminatory, unnecessary and it would have cost jobs and tax revenues.”

McCalla explained that legislated smoking bans are not only unnecessary, they attack the personal rights of smokers and non-smokers, alike. It is the right of every business owner to declare their businesses smoke-free or not, he added.

“It is not up to government to make that decision,” declared McCalla, “and customers can decide for themselves if they want to patronize a place that does or does not allow smoking on the premises. I think people are getting fed up with government telling them what they can and cannot do,” McCalla said.

In response to Brown?s claims that smoking bans do not hurt revenue at bars and restaurants, McCalla cited the Federal Reserve Bank in St. Louis regarding the proven negative effects on businesses from legislated smoking bans.

“The Fed has found that, based on impartial data generated by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, significant employment declines result from forced smoking bans, especially in bars and restaurants due to lost revenues,” he said.

McCalla also said a smoking ban that includes cigar stores, smoke shops and cigar bars would have a ruinous effect on those family-owned neighborhood businesses.

“The General Assembly did the right thing at the right time for the state of Indiana and for that we are grateful. If the issue is raised again in the future, however, we will be ready once again to defend our rights and the rights of all the state’s citizens and help defeat any such bills,” McCalla said.

Is there a difference in tobacco from the old, “banned” Djarum Blacks and the new supposed “cigar” version?

Question by : Is there a difference in tobacco from the old, “banned” Djarum Blacks and the new supposed “cigar” version?
Hello, I have been smoking blacks on and off for years now. Then they got banned. Now they have the new 12 pack versus the old 20, and it says filtered clove cigars instead of cigarettes. I bought my first pack today and they look, smoke and nearly taste just like the originals. They are bigger with colored papers, but they still have the filters (no more sugary tip).

Now, is there a difference, or did Djarum just re-label their product to make it sellable?

That’s sad to hear. I used to smoke those all the time and haven’t had one in probably 2 years. I can’t believe they got rid of the sugary tip, that was the best.

How To Shop For A High Quality Cigar

Are you shopping for a gift for someone in your company or a business associate? If you have someone on your gift list who is a cigar aficionado you may want to consider buying them a high quality cigar. You dont have to be the worlds foremost authority on the subject to be able to choose a good cigar. Below I have compiled a few tips to help you be successful in your search.

Cigars are now more popular than ever before which makes it much easier to find them. Though they used to be considered only for people of influence but now the general public is getting into the act and with the plethora of smoke shops available it is easier than ever to find what you are looking for. Finding high quality Cuban cigars is still tough and will be until the embargo is listed, but that wont stop you from finding a top quality cigar that will please the person you are giving it to.

The first step to finding a high quality stogie is to go to a local smoke shop that specializes in cigars. Stay away from the so-called drugstore cigars, they maybe cheaper but the reason they are cheaper is because they are filled with inferior fillers, preservatives, and irritants. The product you are seeking should be composed on pure, 100% tobacco only. If you are in doubt or have some questions about the ingredients, ask the clerk or salesperson on duty. In most shops these people are highly experienced and knowledgeable and will be able to provide you with any and all information you may need to make a decision.

Even though you may want to shop online to find better bargains, the local tobacco shop is the place to start because you can smell and touch the products which will help you make a good choice. A tip that will help you here is this, when you squeeze a good quality stogie it will compress just a little. It should also be uniform in shape, firm, and not have sections that are soft or hard. The wrapper should be very tight and not rough at all and should not be dry or discolored. If you see a wrapper that has any of those features you shouldnt buy it. The color of the tobacco inside of the product should be even and this can be inspected by looking at the end of the cigar. There will be some slight color differences but sharp changes in contrast of the tobacco indicate that the product was not rolled correctly which greatly affects the burning and can also put off unwanted odors.

The best choice of length when you are unsure how much the person smokes is to go with the longer cigars. These will have a better taste and are great for novices as well. For people who are regular smokers, buy them one that has a larger diameter which will have the richer flavor that they will like

Tips to choose the perfect cigar and buy cigars online

Article by Dylan Ross

When it comes to selecting the most perfect cigar brand, choices may vary from person to person. The aroma or the flavor as well as shape and size etc are all countable in this regard. However, when you buy cigars from the various online stores out there, you can compare some popular brands and taste the cigars beforehand to make sure that you are receiving exactly what you want. The brand new experience of purchasing Cigars International brings home the magic of some of the most amazing cigar brands available in the market and many websites like the costa rica cigar store will provide direct shipping from the country of origin.

There are some important points that one should take into consideration while choosing a cigar brand. It does not matter whether he is a cigar aficionado or just an occasional smoker. These points are essential to notice as the ultimate object of any cigar lover is to have a sensational smoking experience. Many websites enable you to enjoy Cigars International and provide the opportunity to taste multiple renowned brands of cigars that are shipped directly from their country of origin. Before you buy cigars online, the appearance, flavor and aroma of that brand should be monitored well. For that, many online cigar stores also offer sampler cigar packs.

The flavor and aroma of these cigar brands depend on many factors. It depends on the way the cigar has been kept. A cigar humidor is the ideal place to preserve cigars or else they will lose the original essence gradually with time. Reputed websites with experience in this field provide Cigars International and they keep great care of their collection of cigar brands which they prefer to store at the required temperature locked inside the humidor allowing the aroma and flavor of cigars reach the smokers intact. Many people enjoy buying cigars online because of the convenience and great range of choice.

There is another factor which is equally important to notice while buying cigars online. The construction or making of the cigar is an essential factor in determining how fast it will burn. There are many branded cigars that burn quite fast whereas others burn rather slowly allowing the customers to enjoy the real flavor and taste of cigar. Websites that provide Cigars International put at your disposal various sizes of cigars so that you can choose according to your preference. When you buy cigars size matters a lot. This is because many individuals prefer to relish a long smoking experience, while others prefer a shorter smoking experience. For the first type of smokers, Churchills and Doble Coronas will provide a luxurious longer experience. For the instances when time is short, perhaps a smaller Robusto or Panatela will be the perfect choice.

It is the best way to buy cigar brands through such online stores as this saves a lot of your time and energy as well. Besides, there are many reputed online stores like Cigars International that offers great discount prices or amazing deals on your purchase. Punch Classic Deluxe Cigar Reviews

Wrapper: Ecuadorian Sumatra Strength: Full

Filler: Honduran, Nicaraguan, Piloto Cubano Origin: Honduras

Binder: Connecticut Broadleaf

The Punch Deluxe line is a favorite for most cigar aficionados to have in their humidors. It fits many palates as well, as the Punch Deluxe cigars are a very complex cigar line. Some would say they are not for the novice, but if you are interested in trying a complex, full body cigar, any vitola from this collection would be a great place to start. Punch Deluxe cigars are offered in three sizes. The Chateau L 7.25 x 54, Chateau M 5.75 x 45, and Royal Coronation 5.25 x 44. They are also available in three wrapper choices Maduro, Double Maduro and EMS. The Royal Coronation is only available in the Maduro and EMS wrappers.

The General Cigar factory in Honduras is where the Punch Cigar line is produced.

These are still hand rolled cigars and made in Honduras for the cigar market in America. This brand has been around well over one hundred years, which says a lot about the cigar and the fine tobaccos that are used. The Punch brand began back in the 1840′s with Manuel Lopez. He resided in Cuba and wanted to make a cigar that would attract the British market. During that same time, there was a very popular puppeteer show in Great Britain. It was called the Punch and Judy show, with Mr. Punch being the main character. Manuel thought he would tap into the popularity of the show and name his brand Punch Cigar after Mr. Punch. That decision deemed to be a good one as his cigar brand became extremely popular in Great Britain. Funny enough, the show itself can trace its roots back to the 1600′s. A long standing cigar, with an even longer standing name, both prove to be a success. In 1924, Manuel retired from the business. At that time, he gave brand ownership over to Esperanza Valle Comas. The brands final purchase was by a leading Honduran cigar maker, Villazon and Company. General Cigar purchased Villazon and Company in 1997. Even with all the acquisitions, the brand has only differed slightly from using Cuban tobacco to using the finest Honduran tobacco to be sold in the U.S. The cigar bands still have Manuel’s name on them as well. You can also see a humorous lithographed picture of Mr. Punch smoking a cigar on the boxes the Punch Deluxe are sold in.

The Punch Deluxe Royal Coronation has a flawless appearance. It is slightly oily and smooth to the touch. It is a firm and well packed cigar with no soft spots. The draw is a bit loose, but nothing that interferes with the enjoyment of the cigar. This stick produces lots of smoke from the first light up. The ash holds tight throughout the smoke and the flavor is fairly consistent through the whole cigar. However, the flavors do intensify towards the middle and end. It starts off being on the milder side with a nutty flavor, then quickly transitions to a more medium smoke. Into the second third, there is still the nuttiness, but hints of spice begin to ramp up the intensity. In the final portion, the aforementioned flavors are still present, just more complex by adding in a creaminess as well.
