@w00tboy how can one tell? Thanks in advance.
try lighting it in the dark
100 dollar is only for this cheap line, the real duponts start with 380 dollar for the line1 and goes up to 10.000 dollar for some limited editions
they are sold online, those xtend lighters are the cheap line of Dupont, i didnt even know there are fakes from those models but i order my Line2,Gatsby,L1 lighters online and they are definatley real, i know everything about dupont fakes
@DogTagx89 What is butane? It’s a gas. That’s why it’s called butane gas.

ROFL Saint Dupont! The S.T. were the original guy’s initials.
ahaha gas? regular or unleaded?
you mean butane?
cigars are disgusting!
You´ve a nice channel, but your S.T. Dupont isn´t original…you know, right!?
Greetz
I got one for my boyfriend
I found one in the woods with a diamond in the case and it works as well- probably owned by a crack head….
Another point: Using it at full power would will a foot of a cigar, I personally durn the dial a TAD past the lowest setting, and it’s perfect. This lighter is powerful and I’m sure he has the power increased for this video, I wish he would chime in himself though, as well.
I promise you, I have the same exact lighter, just different scheme. Mine is chrome, but that’s not the point. When turned to full power, it will hiss at the end, every time. If you want me to make a video of it myself I can do that for you.
A good lighter may do that at full power, but this is a very good lighter and that flabby gas release mechanism at full power is not part of the specification nor a feature, at all (even after 6 months of daily use here). Maybe its just a faulty one.
Actually you are completely wrong, a good lighter will do that, he just has it turned to full power, you can tell. I have the same lighter, it’s amazing. And no it’s not fake.
please get a vid camera tripod and use both hands to show us your stuff , its fuking annoying seeing you struggling to use one hand to handle the fuking thing , same goes when you make cigar vids

Think that may be a fake or at least defective piece going by 2:13. There is a definite half second ‘hiss’ of gas after you release the lever. On a genuine lighter the gas is cut off at exactly the same time the guillotine closes – when you release the lever. It is pretty much instantaneous.
I bought mine from an authorised dealer but it still had a semi-permanent ‘China’ printed on it, indicating that this range may be manufactured in China. Just sent serial number to ST Dupont to find out!
what stores in hawaii can u get taht
i.ll stick with my black bic lighter for $1.40
its the same with Rolex and Breguet. Authentics are not sold online. (i found out the hard way)
I LOVE your accent! Where is it from?
For all of those who bought them online they are probably fake, especially if they have the word CHINA anywhere on the lighter. S.T. Dupont lighters website: “At this time, we don’t sell our goods on-line and so are unable to guarantee the authenticity of products sold as S.T. Dupont items via the internet. ” Also all of their products are produced in FRANCE! This info is in the FAQ link on the site. they recommend buying from an authorized dealer not via the internet! Hope this helps
thats an awesome lighter!! nice video
What do the serial numbers mean on the bottom of a Dupont lighter?
